When will it be okay to come outside?
When the storm is dying and the rain is done.
The composure of my soul is harmonized,
by the sounds that travel into me...

... but in the mean time...

It is entirely plausible that nothing said before has EVER plucked at my heartstrings in such a way as that. Never have I felt an identification with another human being so much as that quote from a song I just heard. And to think I've never even met that person who wrote that. How is it I can be so sure that I am really identifying, and not simply agreeing with what was said? Well, it's like love, you just know. It has a certain sense of assurance attached to it.

I guess after all this time I am still amazed that music conveys things I don't have words for. Too bad that no two people understand it exactly the same way. That's impossible, right?

I don't mean to fixate on ideas like this, but I guess I wasn't satisfied with the last post. At least this one is short and sweet. Think of it more as a postscript than as an entirely new idea.

Speaking of new ideas, I just thought of one. Continuing from the notion of "sweet", it occurred to me that if fixation were a flavor or a color, it would taste like red food coloring and look like black (because tunnels are black except for the end of it. Tunnel vision, fixate, get it? *nudge nudge*).

From awestruck to fixation to red food coloring being a taste and not a color (now that's what I call a conundrum). My spirit animal is actually a child's spinning top. A contradiction in terms, just like me. Awww biggrin
