Ok, I have been deciding if I wanted to keep this journal. I have been spend A LOT less time on the computer and a lot more time outdoors. I have missed the mountains on western NC and I cant wait until spring. I kinda know what Monsuer Santa Claus is bringing me (a new Kayak Paddle and a new floatation vest and a new helmet so I can quit kayaking with a bicycle hemet and a canoeing vest), so I can't wait to get in the rivers.
My Appalachian Trail trip is still up in the air... I don't know if I will still have the money, and I may want to just do some other things. I have no real Idea yet.
Here are some photos from a hiking trip last week. We did seven and a half miles from Brown gap (AT) to Max's Pacth. It was cold. VERY cold. The breaks were very short and we only stopped for enough time to gobble down the sammiches on the summit. Max's pacth has and incredible 360 degree veiw from the top. you can see some of the major blueridge peaks like Mitchel and Clingmans Peak. Most of the mountains in the back ground are the Smokies and the Blacks.
Yesterday, My dad beat me up. I went over early after taking my girlfriend to work and we did a quick three mile hike in the Craggies. He then proceeded to get me to help out with splitting some wood. I grew up doing this. My familly has a lot of property and we burn the trees that fall for heat. It is a lot of work, but it saves money and we just love the heat from a wood stove.

Hehehe...actually, she loves it because it keeps her warm. She gets cold easily.
