there was something there the first time you kissed me in my dreams
like the two souls were engaging for the first time
positively charged ions connecting to the negative charged
but negativity seemed to lack in the exchange
i felt reborn the moment i woke from my slumber
learning the process of breathing all over again
and every inhale seemed to be stained with your warm breath
prompting my tastebuds to dance a waltz with the air
i staggered through the rest of the day in a daze, punch drunk
my head itching to hit the rough cotton sheets once again
and you and i would once again find ourselves
standing on the footsteps of heaven
over looking the majesty god herself created
hands entwined like the knots of a celtic tree
parting and always coming to meet again
somewhere through the maze of existence
through the badluck and the hardships
though the moments may pass with time in waking life
in my dreams they are forever
