Oh, right...time for an update I guess.
Well let's see.
Firstly: My girlfriend's car exploded today. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. Apparently the oil pump decided that it couldn't bear the thought of another day chugging along taking us to our jobs and making our lives slightly more convenient. The killer is we TRIED to figure out what was wrong with the car a few months ago and the turgid fuck-nuggets at Precision Tune Auto Care told us that the computer was defective. Right, jackoffs, tell me another. In any case, this is a less-than-convenient time for this to happen because...
Secondly: The 'Zam and I are returning to New York! Only for a week, too bad, too bad, but we're returning nonetheless. Of course, the plane tickets did cost $1,000, but I figured I was safe spending the money, not seeing any other major expenditures in my future. Ha ha, you got me God! You Cosmic joker you! And that trip comes 2 days after....
Thirdly: I'm getting a job with Intel. Well, actually the offer is coming along Wednesday afternoon. I think the position they're going to offer me is in R&D working with the design team to hone the manufacturing processes for next year's chips. The work week is "compressed" meaning that I'll be working 36 hours in 3 days, with another 12 hour shift every other saturday. Not a bad deal, but I think it will be hard getting used to the hours. All in all, I'm pretty pleased. Oh, and the best part is that during the interview I told them flat out that I prefer AMD and they're STILL going to hire me. COWER BEFORE MY POWERS OF PERSUASION!
Fourthly: The 'Zam and I may have made an acquaintance. This is definitely the least weighty of the bunch, so it goes last. But yes! Her name is Nicole, and I met her at a deathmetal show. Hmm, maybe I should explain this one a bit---> those who are mentally warped enough to like deathmetal have probably heard of a band called Origin. If not, well, there's this major deathmetal band called Origin, and last week they played at a club 5 minutes from my house. That was hard enough to believe in and of itself, but on top of that, this girl started talking to me before Origin's set, and I soon found out that she didn't actually like deathmetal. She had come to the show out of sheer curiosity. That intrigued the hell out of me, so I started asking her about what she was into and so forth, and she ended up taking down my number and inviting me and The 'Zam to the movies last night. This may not sound like momentous news, but anyone who knows me in real life knows that this may be the biggest item of the bunch.
-Woo!
