I forget the number, but I remember hearing a while ago that more Americans are dying from overwork than Japanese.
Tonight while I was heading back to the desk where I was reviewing some stuff for my meeting with Engineering I saw some of the Medical Emergency Response Team Members around a lady with a cuff around her bicep. I heard one of the MERT members on her radio saying that they had taken this lady's blood pressure 3 times and it had gone DOWN to 173/115. They told her they had to call an ambulance and the lady said "Oh no, I'll just go home. I don't want to go to the hospital". They told her they couldn't let her leave, and to talk her way out of it, the lady said "Oh, it's no big deal, I'm just tired. Last week I had a pressure over 200, so this is not bad." And just to make it better, turns out this lady is 64 years old.
Scary.
