I need to buy another car, and god dammit, it's killing me. You'd think that with the numbing density of dealerships and used car lots around here you'd be able to find a good car for a decent price. And, oh my god, you would be oh so horrifyingly wrong. Every place has the same shit, for the same prices. All of them. It seems like the way they try to differentiate themselves is by crafting increasingly dizzying webs of duplicity and treachery. I hate them all so, so very much.
So I needed to cheer myself up; the logical thing to do was spend money, since I decided rather irately that I wasn't going to buy a car today. I staggered into the bookstore, and I bought this:
This book is one of the most torturously funny things I've ever come across.
Laughing that hard is theraputic for a while, but then iafter a while it makes you exhausted in that way that only prolonged paroxysms can bring on. Kind of like vomiting. Trust me on this! I just had a bout with a hideous stomach flu that had me convinced that satan and risen from hell to sojourn in my bowels, so I know from whence I speak!
But back to comedy. Reading this book made me think of another painfully comedic reading experience I had a while ago, with this book here:
I don't know if kids were assholes when you were a tot, but they certainly where when my age was still in the single digits. I remember when a child was looking to be particularly dismissive they'd say "THAT WAS SO FUNNY I FORGOT TO LAUGH!" followed by some kind of filthy snarfing noise that made my skin crawl. I was always perplexed by the concept of that which was so humorous that it somehow overwhelmed the ability of humans to react. But lo and behold, there are essays in those books up there that are so unbelievably funny that all you can do is stare and think "How is it possible that this is so painfully funny??".
Snarf!
Oh yeah, and one more thing: that "End Friendship" option is pretty cold blooded you guys. I mean, really. Damn.
And, at long last, I picked 5 new favorite SGs. Ha! Well not really, Flux and Sid are automatic. So, really, 3 new favorites. So, my life is still a wreck, but at least I got that item taken care of.
