2 parter:
1. long rambling entry about Roby
2. the new apartment and listening to Yes at 4am
1. we got in a fight the other day about fidelity and once again, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. unless you're talking about heroin or cancer or something. anyway that fight - me sitting on my balcony yelling into my phone making dogs bark next door worked wonders.
long distance is more than a bitch it is an evil and vile thing institution filled with dorks in bands with and angular haircuts and mildly obnoxious girls with a strippers gaping gaze. if the journey wasn't as tough, though, the product - this relationship - wouldn't be nearly as good as it is. there isn't a moment that goes by where i'm not thinking about her and i have the phone bill to prove it.
i took the train all the way down to the dorms again just so i could check her new pics hehehe. once again she cuts her hair so we look like brother and sister. we're going to start a band and make everyone think that.
Roby, i love you.
2. the new apartment is fucking amazing... a 70's shag pad if there ever was one. for the first 4 days the lame bastard i asked to hold my stuff didn't follow through and (literally) deliver the goods so me and Roby were sleeping on a bare matress covered by a towel with nothing to eat... a pile of records but with nothing to listen to them on... a suitcase of clothes but nowhere to put them on.
over the last 2 days i've finally gotten my shit (from pretty much every corner of this city) and had ACTUAL FUCKING FURNITURE delivered. now my room is like the ultimate mod paradise complete with Yes and Lou Reed albums on the wall and a CHAIR and a RUG and TABLES... things i've never had before without stealing them from my parents garage or from the magical dumpster across from their house.
i've written 2 new songs.
and been on a Yes kick for the last 2 days. Yes are awesome. post-punk noodling like Wire or whatever has nothing on the guitar-wankery that is Yes's "The Yes Album". its soooo good.
anyway...

Good luck with the relationship. If they were easy, everyone would have a great one - and they don't.
I am moving into my own new place next week and will be sleeping on my kick-ass bed and surrounded by the rest of my long-stored stuff from my old house for the first time in over two years, and I cannot wait. I will be driving a U-Haul across country (from my Mom's in Alabama to L.A.) so wish me luck!
How's the acting going? Keep me posted and drop a line when you're gonna be out here again.
