i saw my best friend from grade school, George, today. it was pretty fucking harrowing.
last time i saw George was about 7 years ago. at 14 he was a sponsored skateboarder... fucking brilliant. a few years back he bought some ecstacy (from some kids i used to play little league with, go figure). he had a bad reaction to it and went into seizures and to make a long story short his brain popped like a blueberry muffin and he went into a coma for a month; when he got out of it he had to learn to swallow and walk and talk all over again.
so to see him today scared the hell out of me... he's just a fucking shell of what he used to be. we used to go out skating and drawing on bus stops and schools with Sharpies when we were 13 and listen to Operation Ivy and The Misfits and all that... he used to be so full of LIFE and now he's reduced to little more than a blank stare and one word answers.
the guy just got off walking with a cane. and he used to skate professionaly and can hardly get back on a board. he's 21 and his life was FUCKED at 17.
i sat there for 20 minutes trying to make conversation and trying really hard to look him in the face. i could hardly bring myself to do it.
you try looking at what used to be your best friend and seeing a shell of a man. his eyes... the blank fucking stare... its fucking harrowing.
anyway.
other than that i've been good. been hanging around with everyone's favorite ex girlfriend Alicia (right) and my friend Dave and having a vaguely good last few days. got a haircut. sold my surfboard to pay my parents for the towing in Orange County. bought a biker jacket at a yard sale for $25.
watched Man Of a Thousand Faces and James Cagney is fucking fantastic and thats one of my new favorites. recorded On The Waterfront and The Wild One off of tv. Marlon Brando continues to amaze me.
see y'all when it comes around again.

I do like cherries, particularly when they're made unhealthy by being incorporated into the king of all pies. However, my favorite fruit is avocado, the fatty fruit.
