I know most people would think I mean summer but that's not it.. Nope for me it's CONCERT SEASON!!! I fucking love, LOVE, going to concerts! I go to as many as my bank account will allow me to go to. Last year just wasn't much of a big deal bc I just didn't see many I had interest in going to. The one Pointfest I normally go to basically every year I had to sell my tickets last year bc I was just going through a break up on a 9 year relationship & we were going to still go but shit just fell apart about a week or two before hand. So when you're like me & virtually ALL of your friends are married &/or have kids, school, work & life in general it's hard to find a last minute concert buddy. I even offered to give a ticket away if I could just get a damn ride but nope. The one & only show I caught was Incubus & Deftones bc I scored free tickets off the radio station! Then I scrambled like crazy to find a ride & of all people my ex from about 10 years ago offered to take me. It ended up a pretty good night bc we got a chance to really talk & catch up with each other like normal people. Plus it was really cool her husband was okay with it! lol Actually I did go to see Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin & Shinedown last September(ish), maybe October. I definitely said screw it & rocked that bitch solo! People I knew were there but finding each other just didn't happen. It was an... interesting show to say the least. 😐 When you're the dude in a wheelchair that's willing to get right down in the front it makes things eventful.
I already have tickets to 3 shows so far, 2 this month & 1 in July, but yeah I have no ride yet... I guess need to get on that considering Pointfest is like 2 weeks away & then Dave Mathews is the next week.. Holy shit where did time go?!? Now in July me in some college friends are meeting up for Way Back Pointfest.
This shit should be a good time as long as everyone gets on the same page & actually shows up!
There are at least 4-5 other shows I'd love to go to like Weezer, Disturbed & Breaking Benjamin, Korn & Rob Zombie, Blink 182 & I'm sure there will be more. I'm shooting for at least 2 of these. GnR cancelled their St. Louis stop so that's one I have to cross off unfortunately.
I have to work in a baseball game or three over the summer too. Already have one crossed off so I'm doing better than last year! 👍 Not to mention a couple small comic cons in the area, one in which I spent a little too much a couple weeks ago.. Ooops!
I just wish some of this stuff could be closer. That & I desperately need to get a car or a damn van that's set up so I can drive. I'll be looking into selling a kidney or something to afford one of those. I guess I could just stay home & save my money... NAH!!
