Last night.
I said "Hello" on the bus. Another new homeless friend - Daniel. I'm on a first name knowing basis with a larger part of J.P.'s street population than ever before. Almost said "transient" but many are long time Boston-area dudes - nothing transient about them. Daniel had long strong yellowing finger nails and the usual sun-beaten darkened rough-skinned strong hands. I took note. I want hands that can do anything without hurting.

Tonight.
It was decided that I had the softest hands at the party. Not the softest male hands. The softest hands period. So I work with my brain when I have to work at all. Laurel or Mary decided "Butter Hands" and then Laurel rubbed them all over her face. I shook everyone's hand on my way out it was all agreed. Softest. Fuck. I need to dig many holes with a very rough handled shovel - fast. I'd offer to help Daniel build his new home-place but I don't think he wants ANYONE to know where it's going. Maybe I could give myself very light burns with my soldering iron - it's temperature controlable.
