TATTOO PLAN!
this has been my desktop image for a number of months now. i think i want it inked mark-for-mark, as-exactly-as-possible, somewhere on my body. it'll have to be large enough for the details to survive the usual tattoo time-blurring - i'm thinking b-b-big on my left side. ribs down on to hip as need be. with the raised hand coming slightly to front near/under my left pec. and the name will for sure be included.
the drawing comes from a DANVERS STATE MENTAL HOSPITAL patient and i really enjoy all of the ambiguity in the image. the name "Bill" might belongs to the gorilla-man or to the patient or to an intended recipient of the drawing. gorilla-man initally looks menacing but a closer look at his face suggests exasperation or resignation or ??? more confusion. the pointy triangular object in the left hand could be a tool or a weapon or even a carrot? an angry raised fist or a thumbs up?
all of that feels a lot like the way i appear/relate to people.
anyone else like it? think i'm nuts? have scary premonitions of cosmically inherited insanity? know the right person to lay the ink?
also i think i might pierce the bridge of my nose - but i am going to wait until fall or winter - summer heat and intense sweating and my current level of scrubbiness seem a good recipe for infection.
