I released a new album August 1, 2022. 'Black Rose Voodoo' musical album by W. Dire Wolff is a solo album. Just me solo tracking; with 2 guitars, bass, e-drums, vocals. No effects, No overdubs, No copy and paste. The electric guitars went into the board with no amps or effects, just some reverb in post-production. Just basically me, with nothing to hide behind.
I wrote most of the songs in December 2021. After working in the cold rain all day; I came home and got really stoned. I smoked until I was red slit eye stoned, for a couple weeks. Too stoned to write; scribbles on multiple pieces of paper songwriting. I thought it was probably going to be a few ideas to salvage and reconstruct into new songs. But, I recorded the songs in two weeks in January, and I think they turned out good.
No effects, No overdubs, No copy and paste. I just tracked everything. I played each track over and over, until I thought I made it through the song without a mistake. Then that was what it was; no edits.
@fate made the album cover. I love what she made. i was thinking shrunken heads, blood, pirates; but she made this beautiful artwork of life and death. And she's a human ying/yang. She a did series of album covers to support this release. I'm really happy with her ideas.
