Had to make one of the hardest decisions of my relatively short adult life yesterday - whether or not to stay in a financially beneficial but emotionally wounding job or to quit and come back to edmonton to get my personal life back on track and not be so downtrodden.
So my friends, here I am! Back in the city of E-town, crossing my fingers for a hook-up with a friend's dad's construction company so I don't lose the significant bankroll I managed to acquire during my tenure this year in the oilfield. Also, I need to acquire living accomodations right quick. Parents are nice and all, but I'm not the type of person who gets along with my own if I'm under their roof for longer than a couple days.
I've managed to avoid the alchohol now for about 6 months, and you know what? Its not such a bad thing, this not-drinking thing. I haven't spent anymore 200 buck nights at the bars, and my days of spending more than a grand on booze a month is definately a thing of the past. I can easily get used to this so called 'sobriety' thing....if it wasn't for MJ . meh. I've gotta have one intoxicant at least, right?
ciao
