My new apartment may be haunted.
Twice in the month I've lived here, I've woken up in the middle of the night to a ghostly woman standing in my corner/doorway. I really, really don't like ghosts. I'm gonna break this down scientifically.
Evidence For Haunting:
1. A few weeks ago, I had a dream that ended with someone saying "They're coming. Don't help them." I then woke up and instantly knew it was refering to ghosts and my eyes were glued to my kitchen doorway.
2. The next night, I woke up from a dream to see a tall woman with black hair hanging in front of her face like in The Ring standing in my kitchen doorway.
3. Two nights ago, I woke up and saw a pale, zombie-like woman standing next to the kitchen doorway.
4. I never experienced any visions like this in my previous apartment.
5. My window sometimes randomly decides to open.
Evidence Against Haunting:
1. Both ghosts resembled media depictions of ghosts. The first one from The Ring, the second looked like the zombie with the hole in her cheek from Land of the Dead. This suggests they were created by my mind, playing on previously seen images.
2. The two ghosts did not appear to be the same person. It's unlikely that I'd have two ghosts here.
3. While I haven't had visions like this recently, I had them very often when I was younger.
4. They only appeared right as I was waking up and disappeared after a few moments.
5. I didn't have an open doorway and another room in my previous apartment and I was a little uneasy about it at first.
6. The first vision directly bled over from a nightmare with a similar feel.
7. The window that opens is on a track thing with pulleys and weighted ropes that makes it easier to open, and they're really old, so they could mess up for whatever reason and cause the window to open by itself.
8. The guy who lived here before me lived here for four years, so I'm assuming he had no ghost problems.
So basically, I think it's just dreams. But it does kinda creep me out. If it keeps happening, I'll go from there.
