i'm weak. i've been smoking clove cigarettes and chasing them with cancer gum. haven't kicked it yet... i could think of a million excuses why.. but the most prevelent one is work. oh the stress is giving me wrinkles.
went to see the gates in central park last sunday. we drove in, parked by tavern on the green, jumped out of the car in anticipation, and froze our asses off in a matter of seconds. they are orange. they all look the same. after a brisk walk to see my angel, we made a b-line back to the car. burr.
i'm not going to bitch about snow because we all got hit. but i will say one thing - shovel shoulder.
saw interpol last night at radio city. wait, backup... first, a whole group of us saw them in phili in november - show was fucking amazing. breathtaking energy and the sound was addictive. they played all their songs, and did 4 kick ass encores. worth the 2+ hour ride each way on a school nite. so, we all decided to go again, this time they were at radio city, oh, i think i said that already. radio city is quite the strange venue for 20 somethings to be watching an indie rock band, but ok, we gave it a go. got there at 9pm. didn't know what kind of seats to expect because i wasn't the one who bought them. we were in the absolute last bloody row. should have been labeled triple Z nose bleed. interpol started at 9:05pm. we were underneath the mezzanine overhang by at least 20 rows. it literally sounded like i had my hands over my ears. i stuck my fingers in my ears to confirm there was nothing in there. nope. clean. ok, so it sounds like crap. so i attempt to see. ya right. that's never happened at a concert to a 4'11" girl... even at a seated show. not like these 20 somethings were remotely interested in planting their asses in their seats. well, neither was i. i sat on the ledge behind our seats for a perfectly uninterrupted view. the whole back row (triple z nosebleed) followed my lead and sat up there too. that ended quick. the usher nazi's came around and kicked us all off. grrr. so i can't see and i can't hear? this sucks for 50 bucks. so i bail on the group and walk down the aisle towards the front. i could see a little bit, i felt much better. but the muffled sound was still present, only not as bad i guess. and they were just off. it was so.... anti-climactic. exactly the opposite from the last time we saw them. oh, and the best part - we were back in the parking garage by 10:20. that includes time to wait for me to navigate my way back to the group, the group navigating our way out of the building, and walking 2 blocks to the garage. 9:05 to 10:20. quickest show i've ever seen. worst show i've ever seen. and i've seen lionel richie for fuck sake.

Lemme know (via email, IM, etc) if you are interested..
Y~!
I never really got into Interpol. They are alright I guess. I'm waiting for the NIN tour to start. They are playing at Hammerstein and it sold out in minutes. Just my luck.
And keep at it, you'll quit... just be strong.
