Well here we are once again, with a long overdue update to my very much neglected yet unforgotten SG blog!
So things have been a bit gloomy lately. The typical work, sleep, be emo routine was starting to consume me this past month. Out of nowhere I get a txt saying "I just booked a flight to FL!" from the most wonderful woman on the planet and my emo sibling from across the pond, Odissi! At first I was just excited to get to see her then she sprung me with "Want to shoot some photos? " Normally I would jump at the chance but I have been feeling very inadequate with my "skillz" lately. I was so nervous that I would botch a day of shooting with her. Amazingly I think the set came out better then anything I have ever shot in my entire life and I owe all of the credit to my wonderful model.
Here are my favorites from the shoot:
After shooting a great set with Odissi I decided it was time to get back on the ball and add a new lens to my arsenal. I searched long and hard for something that would give me some creative shots. I finally ended up deciding on the Tokina 12-24mm ultra wide angle. It really is a perfect match for my D200. Here is one of the test shots I took today. Set at 12mm with a single SB600 strobe bounced off the ceiling.
I think this lens will be great for the automotive photography I do and make for some really creative portraiture!
All in all this month has had its ups and downs. Hopefully I can get back into the photography swing. Thanks again to Odissi for pushing me to get off my ass! <3
