I took a truck for a test drive tonight.

I've never really been a truck kind of guy -- usually I've thought of myself as more of the car type.

But there's this lake that once upon a time had mayfly-covered cedar-strip boats bobbing. There they still ride, in my mind's eye.

And I'm not certain the little four-banger I have could lug more than a few suitcases.

This is how energy crises start, I suppose.

But it's a nice thought.

I held off actually buying, for now.
