Privacy...it is one of the toughest things to balance, I find. I just had another wonderful weekend, in many ways, with my partner (she says 'hi'), in a continuing cycle of wonderful weekends. The problem is privacy. The weekend is about the only time either of us have to spend alone time with each other, but it is one of the only times I have to spend alone time with myself. I know I'm not the only one who goes batty without time spent by oneself. But balancing this time between lover, job, and school, nevermind friends, and the ever demanding sleep, is...well, exhausting, and I find that usually two things on the list aren't being taken care of - my alone time, and sleep. Anyway, what does the void think? or if someone happens to read this, what do you think?
What's been up- music: I keep listening to Bjork's "All is full of love" to deal with the war and the domestic attack on civil liberties. And GYBE! to get angry, and for catharsis.
film: I watched "Tadpole" last night. It is pretty funny and endearing, I guess, in a way that only a movie about an earnest intellectual teenage boy who is in love with his step-mom can be. "If we do not find anything pleasant, at least we shall find something new" said Voltaire, often quoted in this movie, and "Tadpole" proves a little new, but definitely pleasant.
reading: just finished "Fear and Trembling", again, and now it's on to "Slaughter of the Innocents" by David Bakan, and "The Brothers Karamazov" by Dostoevsky.
eats: nothing new in these parts, but I continue to be fascinated by how addictive veggie burritos at Cosmic Cantina are; they aren't spicy, or really that flavorful, and yet there's something about their gooeyness that makes them....mmmmm....(burp).
