diggity

I went to lunch at this diner I go to about once a week. Anyway, two of my old roommates work there, and a couple other people I know. And then, well, if you go somewhere to eat once a week you start to recognize everyone, and they start to recognize you too. I wonder what my nicname is to those unknown but familiar people, Everytime I've had regulars when I worked at a service type job I've had nicnames for them, unless I knew them. Real names suffice in that situation.

Anyway, one old roommate payed for my lunch and my lunch date's too. Then after saying goodbye to my friend, I went back in and drank some coffee and journaled a little at the counter.. The other old roommate was my wait then and she comped my coffee. Then the other old roomate split a peppermint milkshake with me and paid for it. And while there's no free lunch ($0 bill= should have been paid tip), I feel very loved today.

The sad news is that I found out my karaoke buddy, who works at that diner, is moving to San Francisco at the end of the month. Her interpretations of current pop earworms are an emotional rollercoaster of epic hilarity. I hope they are appreciated out west.
