this is 6 years and 2 now that Joe Strummer left us , on december 22th 2002 ,
Just have a thought for this wise man I had the chance to meet when I was 18 years old, I am 41 now, but I still remember his words and his voice is in my head for ever. We miss you so much Joe...[
This picture is dated from 1984 , I bought it in a Paris music shop, I remember also as it was yesterday
As I will always remember when I called Joe comming out from the scene after the gig he played in 1989 in my little french town called NANCY , far in in the East of France.
I called him, hey Joe , He smiled at me and then after a strong shake-hand , we had some few words, I told him how I was happy to see him play a lot of Clash songs on this gig, he was tapping my shoulder like we were old friends, and that is how was Joe Strummer : the best man than the rock had ever had , he was like your friend , or your brother, but not a fucking rock star, I met many other famous people, but he was unique, he was JOE STRUMMER, the heart of The Clash,
But, his heart failed , and mine too, 4 years ago, I had a heart-transplant, not him, if only things happened to him like for me, maybe I would be less sad today, he became my brother in 5 minutes, and forever ...
I decided to play guitar and make a band after this night.
Thank you Joe, I met many bands and many rockers after for 20 years , maybe your "aura" help me to realize my soul.
So long Joe.....
