The show on Saturday was great. Then the cops showed up, and I felt like I was going to pass out I was so nervous. After talking to me and my boyfriend about what we were doing, and that we had all the appropriate leniences they were actually quite helpful. We told them we are a non profit community center helping artists and musicians, and we don't allow booze or drugs. They told us that smoking is now illegal anywhere in public Hayward. (Sucks because I am a smoker.) Having people hanging out in the parking lot is going to bring attention to the cops. Then one of them gave us a card with his number that we could call if there was ever an incident. Then they left and the show continued!
I was so relieved. That was the first time the cops had ever came in during a show. And probably not the last.
Then someone blasted the stage with the fire extinguisher and cleared out the whole place! I swear some people have no common sense or any respect. Now that kid is going to pay off the expenses of getting it recharged by working security.
Last night I saw Slumdog Millionaire. I thought it was such a good movie and really loved the way they seamlessly meshed Bollywood with Hollywood. If you haven't, go see it now!
Tonight I am excited to see Choke. I loved the book, and can't wait to see how the movie portrays it. Do you think it does it justice?

Choke wasn't even out long enough for people to see it.

Yeah, Choke barely stayed in the theaters here for more than a week. Pretty hollow and tempered compared to the energy of the book, but that can happen far too often. Sam Rockwell was great to watch, but overall the movie missed the mark.
