March 30th 1988 one of my favorite films was released. Michael Keaton played Betelgeuse perfectly, and Winona Ryder channeled the dark and different Lydia so well!
It's hard to think of my favourite part of the movie.... but one part that always sticks out is the scene where Lydia takes a polaroid of Barbara and Adam in their spoopy ghost sheets, and once the polaroid develops she exclaims 'No feet!' and realizes something is a little off.
That, and the rad sandworm..... there's so much fun imagery in the movie. What's not to love?
I used this inspiration in my shoot with @milkydame where you can see her in a few of my photos in my Ghost with the most set out in 2 months, 3 weeks!! Lets just say, we cut some extra holes so you can see more of milky... you can guess yourself where they are. My Beetlejuice cosplay is my imagining of a Beetlejuice/Lydia mix. There's a giant sandworm.... ghost instax, the handbook for the recently deceased..... plus the location! OMG!!! Holy heck am I proud of it! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Have you had the pleasure of watching Beetlejuice yet? I've lost count of the amount of times I have now watched it.
So happy Anniversary Betelgeuse! Thank you for being a comfort movie for a lot of my life, and my inspiration for decor, hair, and just life in general. I myself am strange and unusual.
What's your comfort movie?
