Mythical beasties are the bestest! So @penny thank you for this blog homework topic. Quality.
I think for me this will have to be another "I can't decide, so have a top 3" blog... sorry about it. So, in no particular order.... (well, ok... Krampus is number one legit... but the other two are equal second)
1. Krampus - I have a goal to get to the annual Krampus festival Krampuslauf (“Krampus run”) in Austria one day. Celebrating a a half-goat, half-demon monster that punishes misbehaving children at Christmas? HECK YES!! He is the devilish companion of St Nicholas according to Christian myth. According to legend, he is the son of Hel, the Norse god of the underworld. Everything Christian started as some other belief it seems :P
Krampus was one episode of Grimm (one of my favourite tv shows).
Fun fact! I'm getting my mum to make me a crochet Krampus, because heckin' YES!! I need it in my life.
2. Orcs - Evil creatures with long fangs, red eyes and long arms. @kettle knows I am here for the Orcs haha.
Orcs are a race of corrupted elves transformed into evil servants by the dark lords of Middle-Earth.
They can best be described as a mixture of a monster, ogre and demon. Their recklessness would cause many to die in battle – but their sheer numbers made them more than often unbeatable. Silly silly Orcs.... still rad though, dont you think?
I couldn't decide on a photo of the Orcs, partially because in LOTR they used prosthetics on the actors, and in The Hobbit they used CGI... which made them look a little less rad in my opinion.
3. Kraken - Gigantic squid or octopus that reside in the seas. This may be partially due to just watching the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie.... but the Kraken also makes my pisces, water loving heart happy.... while also terrifying the deep ocean phobia side of me.
They are so large that they can easily wrap ships with their tentacles and drag them into the deep waters with ease.
Also, because of their gigantic size, they can create extremely powerful whirlpools when they quickly submerge, which can suck down anything caught within it, including large ships.
And if you can't think of what beastie you'd want... check out the A-Z of mythical beasts
What a fun blog!!!
