Blog homework: What are a few things you like to do to spread positivity?
Honestly, especially right now, I try my best to spread positivity like glitter. Because glitter gets everywhere and it spreads further than you ever thought. Positivity is much more welcome than craft herpes though.
Making one person smile has a wonderful ripple effect. That one person may then make two people smile, and then it just continues.
I look back on times recently friends or strangers have made me smile. A wonderful older lady on the bus that just radiated joy, who called me green haired lady as she wished me farewell after a lovely chat on the bus. She made sure that she thanked the bus driver and said a cheery goodbye to everyone on the bus. You could see the impact she made. It was like a Mexican wave of positivity. I want to make that kind of positive impact throughout my day.
Recently I opened my own business, and I gave a few friends that are currently without a job a free treatment because everyone deserves to feel special and appreciated. One of those friends has been having a rough go with her health, and that of her mother. I could tell how happy she was as she was leaving. That little bit of personal time, and pampering, really made a difference.
I have a nice long list of my own issues. But even when I’m talking about those, I try to end with a positive, or find a positive associated with that. It really helps me when I open up, but I know that I’ve helped at least a few others to not feel so alone too. Finding positives where I can has helped the bad days have a small nugget of joy…. Or at the least made them not suck so much.
I am a BIG believer in doing acts of love for friends, family, and those that support me. Whether it’s giving a sticker away on my Instagram, or just having a little chat with those I know are struggling. Truly giving them my undivided attention. With how wild the world is, showing someone they have your attention and just connecting with them helps soothe the soul. I know that PMA can be toxic, so some positivity with real, raw talk is 100% needed. Everyone needs a balance.
I know its suuuuper hard to always stay positive, and I am surely nowhere near positive all the time. I know I need to just allow myself those down moments. They somehow make the good days that little bit sweeter.
So yeah, you best believe I’m going to sprinkle positivity like fucking glitter.
I hope tody, and this week, you can find some small nuggets of positivity. But remember, its ok to have some shitty moments too. @missy @rambo @lemon @eirenne
