Skyscapers: Idealism or Practicality?

Song of the day: Gettin Nasty by Ike Turner, the best song from the Soul of a Black Man album (sounds like it came from a different session), J5 took a big bite out of this one for Concrete Schoolyard.

I spin everything really, I just like to make tapes for myself and for friends. A typical tape would have everything from Zappa to Nas. Sometimes I fuck around and try to blend stuff together, I only come up with cool shit on accident, like on this one tape there's this part where the end of Jimi Hendrix's could this be love blends into the beginning of Roberta Flack's bridge over troubled water, and after a minute or two some John Coltrane (second song on Traneing In i think) comes in and plays throughout the rest of the song, it's cool though because the sax follows her vocals almost identicaly, and her piano blends well with the rest of Coltrane's band.

thanks for your suggestions... i love what i've heard of dj spinna's stuff.

I'm trying to work, it difficult and dull. Just a little more effort and i'm over the finishing line and then the summer can roll on. Sunny days and writing dissertations don't mix.

song of the day: MBP Mix - Light My Fire - Major Minor, big drums on this one and some weird 60's guy whispering 'fire' over a cool sax hook.
ilovemikehunt:
did you win that shit?
fuck!
i wish i had a g to blow on records.
you wouldn't have been able to catch the sale anyway; it was one of those wait in line to go rush through the records they've put on sale for $1 (45s for $.25) it was fun! i got to meet some cool people waiting in line (i got there like an hour early)
i got like 48 new things..
bling!
ilovemikehunt:
ooooh i like that one.

It's going to be about the reverse engineering, Nanoloop for the gameboy turns it into a step-sequencer, providing all the power of the gameboy soundchip to you the creative.

Spectrum ZX's can do the same thing, yesterdays sounds today, fresh for 2004.

Last night it was all about Jazzy Jeff, my man Bill Brewster held it down, but when it comes to the skills and dropping the party vibe, Jazzy can't be beat, i'm going to hire him for a party i will throw, somewhere (proberbly an abandoned pumping station just outside east london)sometime (one summer) somehow (unclear).

I'm worrying about the biggest score i could ever...
