I cannot believe the shit that is hitting the fan in Washington. most importantly i cannot believe the lack of coverage on the cause of the problem. as far back as 2005 people have been warning us of this but no one seemed to care enough to stand up and make sure people knew about it or fix it.
This is the kind of thing that makes me believe that there is no such thing as a good politician!

Greed and irresponsibility
Category: News and Politics
The era of greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street and in Washington has created a financial crisis as profound as any we have faced since the Great Depression.
Congress and the President are debating a bailout of our financial institutions with a price tag of $700 billion or more in taxpayer dollars. We cannot underestimate our responsibility in taking such an enormous step.
Whatever shape our recovery plan takes, it must be guided by core principles of fairness, balance, and responsibility to one another.<<
first of all greed isn't a good thing but it drives any market, the want for more. but in any NON ARTIFICIAL market excessive greed is compounded by excessive risk. when sitting at the table looking at the dealers 10 you hit if your greedy, but he could have an ace risk vs reward. this "problem" was caused by the people in charge of monitoring and regulating the financial markets not doing their jobs. the Irresponsible parties include O'Bama. in 2005 he was present during a report by the CEO of FM who was saying that if things didn't change in the way they were lending money to people who couldn't pay it back, there would be "problems".
I am no politician, I am no economist. I am a human being and i am an American.
roll back the rates for the people who got raped by ARMs. 1% is better than 0% i dont care who your accountant is.
if the US Government ends up buying a shit ton of foreclosed homes. rent them out to people who are in need of assistance, rather than sending them a check. "here is a rent free house for you and your family, pay the property tax, pay the utilities and don't wreck it. once you get on your feet we can talk about you buying it from us cheap."
This is the kind of thing that makes me believe that there is no such thing as a good politician!

Nope, no such thing as a perfect politician, just the same .. there is NO such thing as a perfect *person*. We've just got to go with the lesser of the two evils as far as voting, always have, probably always will. Nothing will change unril someone like ME becomes president L)
