Hi, Oi, Hola, Salut, and Здравствуй once again, my handsome and beautiful friends!
If you’ve read through my blogs from the HPLFF, then you know that I have A MEGATON of writing ahead of me, so it’s likely that you won’t see new blogs from me for a while. So I wanted to upload one last one to provide commentary for the photos in the photo set I just uploaded.
BTW, @ojtheviking, I think I finally found my favorite photo of myself; it’s the one above, which I’m currently using as my profile pic.
Although I am very fond of rain, the lack of it during the vast majority of my vacation was a boon for traveling. I am extremely fond of waterfalls, so I made a point to visit Multnomah Falls on the way home this year - especially because a waterfall plays an important role in my current novel. However, the lack of rain meant more tourists were about, so I wasn’t nearly as comfortable visiting either the falls or Stonehenge, because, typical of most tourists, there were a lot of people that did not properly appreciate the spectacles before them. I wanted to record the sound of the falls, but people just wouldn’t be quiet, and the falls aren’t as close as they appear, so you would definitely hear the people more than the musical sounds of nature. The same thing happened at Stonehenge; people let their kids run around the war memorial like it was a sandbox with big rocks instead of a jungle gym. But hey, what do I know? Maybe that’s the best way to appreciate something that you don’t see every day, and I just don’t know it yet.
Me, on the other hand, I took a moment to reflect upon the grandeur of Mother Earth and the accompanying constructions of humankind. First off, as I stood gazing at the amazing waterfall above and below me, I noticed a subtle erotic imagery that was lost on everybody else, or maybe it’s because I haven’t been with another girl for a while, but the lower falls reminded me of a particular type of female orgasm. Maybe I’m just crazy? Nah. 😉 I know you see it now.
As always, the Divine remembered my love for trains, so I got to see one come through at high speed on the way out from the falls. I’ll be uploading a video, so you can get a better feel of it passing by less than 30 feet away. 😁
It was really windy at Stonehenge, something I didn’t expect, because it was so calm at the falls - otherwise I would have put my hair up in a ponytail!
As always, in spite of the somber nature of the Stonehenge WWI Memorial, I was still reminded of the scene from This Is Spinal Tap, so I saluted our fallen soldiers the best way a Goth Metal Rocker Chick can.
I’ll be uploading a couple of videos so you can get a better feel for Stonehenge this year, too.
Upon my return to Spokane, I was reminded that circumstances could have been very different; an early snowstorm dropped several inches of heavy, wet snow overnight, knocking out power to 35,000+ residents due to tree limbs overburdened by the weight of both the leaves they had yet to shed and the weighty white stuff. Fortunately, my car was not parked under a tree!
Anyway, I had a wonderful vacation, and my doctor is working with specialists to help me with my health issues, so I will be focusing once again on creative projects and making a living.
I will be commenting occasionally, and hopefully tipping a bit once I get paid again, but I’m going to be extremely busy for the next few months. May your Samhain and Halloween celebrations be EPIC, and may your days be full of needed rain and sun - and your nights be filled with neon lights and FUN! 😆
Infinite Love 💗💗💗💗💗,
