Hi Oi, Hola, Salut, and Здравствуй, Everyone!
I apologize for being mostly absent for the last few weeks. My day job in the banking industry has become a veritable nightmare, now that the full ramifications of multiple mistakes made by senior leadership a few months ago (and recently) have taken full effect. My department, and more specifically, my team, was reorganized and split into two. The effects on team morale have been catastrophic, and now I have a fragment of a skeleton crew, as more than half my team has transferred or quit (including my former boss, who was the first to go). So, in addition to rebuilding my team, I am having to fill in when we are understaffed. I hate to be negative, but some people just don’t belong in management. As you can imagine, I have been working some serious overtime. I pulled seven days straight last week. It’s a good thing there’s more to life than work!
Throughout the madness I have been missing my interactions with all of you wonderful people, and tonight I sat and thought about the little conversations that we have, either in threads or in private messages. It was a natural thing to do, as I was so exhausted I could barely stay awake. After a nap, I felt better and decided to take a few selfies to go along with some awesome photos for my next blog. However, my previous thoughts kept coming back to what it would be like if I were able to actually sit and talk with my SG followers right here on my sofa. Before I knew it, an idea for a new mini-set hit me, and as the camera clicked, the clothes came off. I’ve got some great pix and two blogs coming up this week, one inspired by a post from one of you, and the other as a companion to the mini photo set. I have another major SG related project that I’ve been working on when I’ve had time, and the fruit of my labors should be ready to be shared in some capacity soon.
I look forward to the day when I can simply write for a living; corporate America is for the birds. Here’s a sneak peek from my new mini-set!
