Recently, I was tagged by the Mighty @midnight (shown below in a pic from her new Cosplay photoset)
As part of her blog homework on spreading cheer around the site. I especially loved how she took the time to not only recognize her fellow SGs and Hopefuls, but she also made sure to mention a large number of members who have supported her, including little ol’ me. I certainly don’t have her kind of following, naturally, but I do my best to be a channel for love, goodwill, and humor on SG as much as I can. Even when I might be unhappy about something, I will do my best to express myself in a way that will benefit everyone in the end.
So, like the blue-spectacled beauty above, I’d like to recognize some people who keep things light in the SG world, and who have supported me as they do many others.
One particular SG Hopeful that has inspired me and made me smile repeatedly is the fiery redhead from Florianopolis, Brazil, @felicity (shown below in a pic from her most recent set)
She has a heart bigger than the Brazilian rain forest, and she has a wonderful sense of humor. She is one of several Brazilian beauties that I follow, and more and more frequently I find myself wanting to learn Portuguese because @felicity has learned my language so well that I’m almost embarrassed by my limited knowledge of foreign languages. I have confidence she will be Pink soon; her latest set is magnificent 💙!
Another Hopeful who has a special place in my heart is the adorable and amazingly cheerful @chroi (shown below in a super sexy photo from a recent post)
@Chroi is one of those girls who makes your heart beat a little bit faster, because somehow she makes you feel like everything is alright with the world, and it will continue to be so, just because she accepts you just as you are. I hope someday my writing career takes me to the UK so I can meet her in person.
Another Hopeful with whom I have had the pleasure to interact and whom I find inspiring and uplifting simply from her presence on the site is @starstuff_ (shown below utilizing Lionel Ritchie’s song, “Dancing On The Ceiling” to reverse the force of gravity (No, the picture isn’t upside down, check out her page for yourself).
@starstuff_has inspired me by her sheer determination to become Pink after many setbacks. I like to think that she’s a little twinkling star that has been overlooked, but is, in fact, about to go supernova. Her sincerity and kindness makes me inclined to fly down to Louisiana just to give her a hug.
More recently I’ve had the pleasure of meeting @lovelydemon, who, although she hasn’t been very active lately, is extremely supportive, caring, and positive, in spite of having a penchant for darkness like me. (@lovelydemon appears below in an image from her latest set reminding us to both learn other languages and to read interesting things!)
I could keep tagging SGs and Hopefuls all night, but the homework is tag 4 and pass it on!
Like @midnight, I’d also like to recognize a few members that have enhanced my experience here on SG by being excellent: @ferkixlll, @brokenvegetable, @cvtgrrl_shan, @jozsef, @ojtheviking, @leighgabriel, and more recently, @metalfreak and @therustycheez, @silentobjectorx, and @thrasherx. I wish I had the time and energy to list everyone that has made a positive impact on my experience here, but the list would be too long! For now, though, I want to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year! May your journey be smooth, and may the inevitable obstacles of life that arise simply inspire you to achieve, rather than making you feel beaten down.
