There will be a musical version of the Lord of the Rings debuting in Toronto in 2006. There are open casting calls, so I must take advantage of my small size (I am about five foot one) to audition for the role of a hobbit! While I cannot sing, apparently they also need acrobats, and I can do a bit of tumbling and walk on my hands almost as nimbly as on my feet. I know now what I must do....
Incidentally, does anyone remember that there already has been a musical of the Lord of the Rings in Toronto? It played at the Hummingbird Centre back when it was called the O'Keefe Centre. It would have been in about 1987 or so. I remember my parents took me to see it as a young child.
I have to go back to work tommorow. But I am feeling much less sick so it is OK.
