Canadian Press has apparently learned that Heritage Canada is exploring measures to make sure that terrorists do not buy Canadian broadcasting media. Yup, that's the big threat, al-queada buying up radio and air time north of the 49th paralell.

And (if you'll pardon the lateness of my reply) Bowie's show was in fact substantially different than the earlier Toronto gig I'd seen. For instance, he didn't play "Slip Away" - a song from Heathen which got a big build-up and its own video segment in the last show - and which I personally have never liked even a little bit. He brought out several rarities and even the banter was fresh, too. (I know what it's like to go through the motions onstage when you've been playing the same set for too long.) Then again, the guy has four decades of material to sort through. I wouldn't be surprise if he could do 30-40% completely unique material on any given night. Granted, that might go too far into the B-sides than many fans (like the shiatheads at the London show squawking "Play your hits!!!") might care to go... but the fact remains he could do it. And I'd go to see him perform again and again.
