Busy few days for me, went to the optometrist (finally) and got some glasses. My eyeballs are thanking me, they have had nothing but contacts for quite a few months now. They are too sessy for words. Please don't mind the huge bags under my eyes.
Also, finally went to the Dr. They ordered up some labs and the horrible lady came and stuck me with a needle roughly the size of a pencil (did I mention that I fucking HATE needles?) Will be goin' back next week for the results. I have to go get my drivers license renewed, as of yesterday it is officially expired. Luckily, the DMV in this town is tiny and there is never a line.
No one seems to believe that I am not drinking any more. The same people have asked me over and over again "Are we going out Fri/Sat to the bar for your birthday" No matter how many times I say no, they just don't seem to get it. Not drinking, and not putting myself in a position where I want to drink. It is entirely possible to have fun without alcohol, but someone please tell my friends/family this. Luckily, my brother has hopped up on the wagon for me, so I may just spend some quality time with him this weekend. He is taking me ipod shopping, that is what my mommy is buying me for my birthday.
My birthday was weird this year. As silly as it sounds, it just didn't seem to matter that it was my birthday. This is the first year my mom didn't have a card for me.
I guess I am just spoiled and need to grow up. Plus, my husband is gone, and I only got to talk to him for a few minutes online while I was at work. I think this is one of my first birthdays without him in close to 7 years. At least the first that I didn't get to talk to him. That was pretty depressing in itself.
But, enough sad face for me. This morning was beautiful, it is just starting to cool off in the mornings. I can't wait for the fall, when the mornings are crisp and the days warm up to perfect temperatures. The skies always look so open and blue. Nights can be spent around a small campfire, without freezing your ass off or sweating from the flames. I want to go camping now. I need to go stir up some shit in the SG Texas group and get a weekend camping expedition arranged.

It is possible to have fun without drinking - I do it quite frequently. From what I've seen from people quitting booze, you're wise to stay away from bars for now. "People, places & things," they say.
Enjoying quality time with family is a wonderful idea.
Well, my BD was just ok this year. Ate like a pig all day long, then my tummy was hurting late evening. Also drank too much. Still waiting for my new camera to show up in the mail.
