Dear peeps. Just sauntering slowly unto the landscape of a few chosen words. Mindless fact: There are over one hundred mature vultures nesting this winter in a tall hearty pine along my drive. Also, my beloved psychiatrist has me branded an erudite. In other news, I walked into Dirty Franks, this place was crawling with hipsters. A half a dozen 24oz PBR's decorated the bar. Nyways, it's a small neon lit joint on Fourth street, a block from the greyhound bus station. I came there to place a to-go order for a woman & a child whom I was dropping off to meet with a lady from a woman's shelter for the physically & mentally abused. With them, she'd have a place to stay. I had twenty minutes before the taxi arrived. Just enough time to get a two year old and her mom some food. So, after placing the order, I went to the restroom. After washing up, to my immediate surprise when I opened the door, there was a man lying unconscious in the very spot in the front of the restaurant where I had ordered! The owner told me that the man said, "Somebody help me, I've been shot!!" After this, he collapsed. My heart went out to the man. A medium build, plainly eaten by the strain of homeless wanderings. What were the play of events that came to this? After repeating a few Om Mane Padme Hum's under my breath, my thoughts found it quite curious to reflect on the warmth of my own shadow calling attention to this!? (another story perhaps). In no time the street was littered with red and blue lights, an officer with a shotgun hugging a beeline for all to view. No one sat comfortably. Just as quickly as the eerie intensity of the moment had come, it was gone. The waitress handed me the white sack - I delivered the chili-dog and mac & cheese to thankful hands. Just then, the taxi pulled in. Later, I received a text that the mother and her daughter made it safely. Good deed done! That said, I finished off my evening with a 'Vegetarian Frito Chili' at Surly Girl & washed it down with a wicked triple filtered IPA. It was yum! Until next time, much love!
