adjusting to life in the bay area - so vastly different from athens. the ease of life back there can make you soft, which is a good part of the reason i left. it really can be a lot like never-never land.
i was sick for over a month when i got out here - it was brutal. my last couple of months of pushing myself hard as i got ready to leave athens, out drinking and carousing, packing, stressing, traveling, etc - i guess really took their toll on my immune system. but the past couple of weeks, i've returned to my regular healthy self. in fact i find myself exercising more and drinking less since i moved here, so before long will hopefully be healthier than before.
because there's relatively little socializing with my work, i'm still casting about for ways to meet new folks. luckily i have a few good friends left from when i lived in the area back in 2001.
the heart-break is fading, as it usually does.
going up to marin for a hike with some folks later in the week. looking forward to seeing some redwoods.
