Darkroom (poem)
Forgiveness isn't the path
To regaining trust
It's leaving yourself exposed
Voulnerable to the lightest touch
So my heart's a darkroom
Red light and gelatin prints
And you sit and watch
I pray you let exposure develope
It's high contrast, black and white
You gently brush the negatives
I cross my fingers and smile
Proof is more than explatives
And we can open the door together
Time comes round on these
Bring proof of trust this time
Caught in new memories
My eyes the camera
Your canvas: eyes, neck, lips
My darkroom anything but
Our trust is found in this
Our trust is found in this
Blink,
Exposure,
Eclipse
Forgiveness isn't the path
To regaining trust
It's leaving yourself exposed
Voulnerable to the lightest touch
So my heart's a darkroom
Red light and gelatin prints
And you sit and watch
I pray you let exposure develope
It's high contrast, black and white
You gently brush the negatives
I cross my fingers and smile
Proof is more than explatives
And we can open the door together
Time comes round on these
Bring proof of trust this time
Caught in new memories
My eyes the camera
Your canvas: eyes, neck, lips
My darkroom anything but
Our trust is found in this
Our trust is found in this
Blink,
Exposure,
Eclipse
