Hello lovelies!
So, as promised, here is my update. I love my new job. It's a kick ass establishment, with a really awesome atmosphere. I apparently started the job right after a mass firing took place, so I was, and still am the only bartender. Story has it that the previous employees were stealing and getting piss drunk on the job. Not really any of my concern except for the fact that because of their foolishness, I can't drink at work. Doesn't make much difference to me, I don't really drink too much, or too often, anyway. I prefer smoke, less chaos comes along with it, at least in my case.
I get to meet a lot of interesting people at work, that I really enjoy. Later today, or later this week I have some fliers to hand out to try and get some more foot traffic to Shotguns. For the time being, we are slow, but it s also right after the holidays. I have a good feeling about the coming months. When students get back into the swing of things I think we will have a more constant crowd. Clients that have come in when I'm working tend to return rather frequently, my register is always spot on, and I think I'm pretty hot, so before long the owner noticed that and made me head barmistress. Which is really head bartender, but the word barmistress just does it for me. It's sweet because this way I can run the bar the way that I think is most efficient, and am allowed to rearrange things and have a say in bar operation. Plus I've been told I work magic when mixing.
Because of all this I've picked up fire spinning and flair bar-tending again. It's a little tricky to get the hold of things again, but the more I practice the easier things get.
I'm quite a pyro at work, everything that can be lit on fire, is. I have my Seven Deadly Shots, which are all modeled after the Seven Deadly Sins. Which are all on fire.
I promise to post a video of some flair or fire spinning when I can, and I heard a lot of suggestions for a set inside of the bar. I've tossed the idea around a bit, and am contemplating talking to the owner about it. I'm not sure how keen he would be on it, but he's a really laid back guy, so I don't think he'd have a problem. He already said he would house a release party for when my next shoot goes up into member review, which we are going to get to shooting some shots in a few weeks. No worries, I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm also registered for classes, and eagerly awaiting getting back into school.
I also have dreads now.
*tease* I love them, this sounds silly, but they are spiritual in a way. I'm so happy I did them, seeing them grow and change is amazing. Maintenance is heavy, but not any more so than when I used to straighten/curl/style my hair daily.
Take care my loves!
Dezzie
