Hello my lovelies, my devious little duckies,
So, my brother and I found an old camera at my mom's place, and it happened to have some pictures of my costume from last years anime convention. So I've been inspired to do a blog about my nerdy escapades as a convention attendee, and avid cos-player.
My brother and mom got me into costuming when I was very young, we always had the best homemade Halloween costumes. Then later in life being in acting and dance allowed me more time behind a sewing machine, with a glue gun strapped to my hip. Camping foam is one of the best canvases to use in the world of cos-play.Two years ago for Halloween I was a witch elf from Warhammer Online. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of that costume, or the crazy night that followed.
Last year for the anime convention I was Theresa from Fable 2. My brother and I found out about the convention about two weeks prior and had to work hard and fast to get our costumes done. Here is how mine came out:
There were some awesome costumes there I remember, but so many characters from Bleach and Naruto that it was a little bit of a let down. We didn't win any contests because characters from video games were not admissible into the costume contest.
Last year for an amtgard event I dressed up as megaman. Some of you have seen this costume from my old profile, but here it is for all of you. Now, so you know, I'm totally obsessed with Megaman, the badass formally known as Rock Man. See, when Protoman came back with Wiley's army of evil robots to destroy and control the world, Megaman fought him with all of his might. Protoman explained that the people he was fighting for had no urge, no desire, or motivation to fight for themselves. That they didn't want a hero, but a martyr, a statue to raise. Megaman assessed the situation, saw that his brother was right, and left the people to the demise of their own apathy. Total. Badass.
Haha, I'm a nerd. So we are starting a airsoft LARP (Live Action Role Play) in the next couple weeks when family life calms down a bit. It's post apocalyptic. When I have some free time I work on my garb, which I designed earlier this week My characters name is Indigo. Basically a long story short, after the "disaster" that destroyed the world as we know it and threw us into this mad max menagerie that we are now living in, she was left totally alone, and now lives through theft and deception. What I'm saying is, the Indigo child steals pretty things, and will kill you to get them. So I'm excited about it. Some escapism would do me wonders at this point.
Hope you all are having a wonderful week. Let me know what my little duckies are up to. <3
The date of my new set being up in Member Review will be known shortly. All my love.
Hopefully Yours,
Dezzie
