Overcoming my previous tragedy of having ALL of my army equipment (not issued stuff, that's locked away safely elsewhere), replacing it has become exceptionally expensive. So far all I've replaced is a tactical vest and a belt order/holster and it's already set me back 140. However, proving that the universe is a series of kharmic cheques and balances, two guys I never met but know through a skirmishing forum offered to send me replacement uniforms for free. I honestly didn't want to take them for free but they both insisted they wanted nothing in return and just wanted to help out. What could I do but graciously accept.
I'll repay them one day somehow. One of them mentioned that the next time there's a skirmish tournament and I have him in my scope, all he wanted was that I miss that first shot!
So I need a career change. Most of my friends are still back in Meath or in Dublin and living in Limerick is losing it's appeal. I'm thinking of moving back but what's putting me off is moving back in with my parents. Since I've been away for 4 or 5 years now I'd be moving to the "spare" room, which is actually smaller than a parking space. Which sucks.
Advantages of moving home:
Both parents are awesome cooks.
More frequent steak dinners.
Considerably cheaper rent.
Being able to justify buying a car (living in the city as I do now, I don't see a point).
Most of my friends still live or work within 20 miles of my parents place.
Less money troubles.
Being able to skirmish and train more often
Disadvantages of moving home:
Finding a new job.
Living with my entire family again.
The whole "Retreating to the safety of home" vibe really annoys me, like I failed life or something.
Trying to go back to my old life could result in a "grass is greener..." situation where it turns out I don't want that life anymore
Leaving my friends, and teammates, I made in Limerick
Not having my own place anymore. I've become accustomed to some privacy and my daily routines.
Probably my best mate is the guy I live with, the conversations I have with him would be considered a commitable circumstance if I was to have them with anyone else.
I'm kind of writing this just to get it onto something other than my head, hoping that it would help me decide, but now I'm more confused as to what I should do.
Anyone got any thoughts?
