The big weekend off...
Day 1
The original plan was this.
1) Get up at a reasonable time. It is a day off after all so I fancied a sleep in. 11am or so would have been a big sleep in for me so I set alarms for then
2) Get my hair cut. It's gotten beyond a joke now. Someone at work asked if I was trying to grow an afro yesterday.
3) Cook a decent lunch. I haven't cooked anything and sat down to eat it there and then in weeks and I had my thoughts on a fillet steak.
4) Head for the university training fields to practice. Having reviewed a lot of the game tape for the Uni's american football team (yes, american football in Ireland) I realise that we have nobody to kick conversions (I've been out for the first two games) and I'm pretty decent with a boot so I thought a bit of practice before I get back to playing as a just-in-case. Rather than always going for a risky 2, it's good to know you can go for 1 and get it.
5) Cook a decent dinner. I even bought pasta and tomatoes as well as some veg for this.
6) Bed early. 1 day of practice won't help anyone really so an early start in the morning needs an early night.
Here's what actually happened:
1) Woke up at 2:30 in the afternoon
2) Seems the entire city wanted to get their hair cut today. Took 45 minutes in a queue but it got chopped.
3) Downloaded about 40 Rat Pack songs while eating the roll I bought in the deli near my apartment for lunch.
4) Spent most of the evening listening to said songs and farting about the apartment moving things but not quite cleaning. Soon realised it was too late to go to the training fields.
5) Began watching Black Hawk Down, followed by Jarhead and Kelly's Heroes. I forgot to cook dinner between them.
6) It's now 11:45 and I'm still awake and writing this. I've just eaten my "dinner" which consisted of cheese on toast.
What a waste of such a beautiful day...
