Okay, so heres the deal. I dont usually complain but this is a blog and from what I've seen from most blogs; they are used to bitch and whine. Anyway, I'm not from Washington, I grew up in the midwest and spend most of my life there. What is up with drivers out here? Do people not understand that the left lane is for passing? I dont drive super fast, usually 10 over, but it seems if I come up behind someone that is in the left lane (usually going the speed limit) they refuse to move over. Does everyone have entilement issues? Am I wrong for expecting them to move over? Everywhere else that Ive driven, if someone is in the left lane and you come up behind them at a faster speed, they move over for you. Not only that, if you are in the left and and just doing the speed limit, you get run off the road. The only reason I bring this up is, by the nature of my job, I spend a lot of time behind the wheel, usually driving between Seattle and Portland and Spokane and Seattle. I drive fast because I like to minimize the time I have to sit in my van. I dont like my van all that much and if I can get to my destination a bit sooner by driving a little faster, so be it. If I pass someone at 80 in a 70 zone, they flash their brights at me Iike I just cut them off or something, I've never seen that before. To people have a problem with other people that drive faster than they do? Am I missing some sort of cultural paradigm? Help me understand.
