ok. so some things I did this weekend. I tried writing it all out, but that didn't work out with my constantly sleep deprived mind. so bullet points it is!!
first, my wife lost her wedding ring friday. not the original set i bought her when i was broke broke broke, but the "upgraded" set i bought her when i was making more money and she was pregnant and feeling ungorgeous. which was totally untrue.
Went to the adams avenue street fair, saw some good bands, and "strawberry alarm clock" who was probably better when they were in their 20's and you were on a lot of drugs. ate funnel cake, and egg rolls and was merry.
after the street fair went to a little (and literal) hole in the wall place called the "carnitas snack shack" which has amazing pig based foods. I wanted to try their carnitas poutine but it wasn't on the menu that day. but I did get tacos and a bacon crunch bar.

sunday i shot an engagement photo set for some friends of friends. they would not listen to my "artistic" input about setting or content so we did the same beach crap everyone does. and they wouldn't listen to me about not doing them at noon, so i'm valiantly trying to edit out massive raccoon eyes. even though I used my flash and reflectors. ugg. but i do like hanging out at this beach

later sunday I got to start welding in some support in my hot rod for the rumble seat. which I finished monday. when it was all of 100 degrees outside. yay.

the rest of monday was dedicated to studying for class. And i'm killing my math class, not that high of a math so it's not really impressice, but i dig it.
Tuesday was our 8th anniversary. so I had random fun things planned. first we drove a half hour down to Imperial Beach to go to a donut shop I've wanted to go to for years now, Stardust donuts. One of the reasons I was excited to try this place ended up being one of the reasons we DIDN'T get to try it. they are extremely vague and unreliable about the times they are open. we pulled up and the simple sign in the window read "on vacation until 10/16". they have no website or phone number to check on such things before driving down. here are their posted hours.

Also, they do not accept credit/debit cards or large bills for a small purchase. they're assholes, and i respect that.
After that we drove to coronado and walked around the parks, beaches and cool buildings around the way-too-rich island in san diego bay.
Then with my wife not feeling well, we went home, and watched doctor who.
I had planned a very nice dinner outing, with my parents watching our daughter. But when the mail was delivered we found a surprise medical bill for over $400, from my wife's hospital visits last month. We reconsidered the trip to the expensive restaurant and decided to play dress up at home and make a nice dinner. But when i canceled my plans with my parent's to watch our daughter they offered us an unused gift card to the restaurant... and despite my crushing pride and unwillingness to accept help... i accepted this.
So our plans went accordingly and we went to Donovan's steak and chophouse in La Jolla, CA. The BEST steakhouse i've ever been too. I won't talk about it too much as i am crashing and have to wake up for work in 5 hours. but suffice to say that the meal was $180 total after tip and was easily worth double that. they even brought us an extra dessert to celebrate our anniversary, the service was great, my wife looked awesome, i got to wear my awesome pinstripe suit which makes me look like a hitman, so all in all it was a great night.
