well, as you can probably guess, my computer did not get fixed . so of course, the few times i've been on here i've been doing it from work so i can only be here pretty much until someone enters my office - which means i'm here for maybe 2 minutes so, while i'm here right now, let me just give you all a little update, but first, sit back and enjoy a little history lesson
in 1999 i graduated from high school (yay!) and embarked on the journey into "the real world," where every morning i woke and went to work (such is the real world ) i bounced around for a while, working in maine then moving to mass and getting a job down there...then moving back to maine. at the end of 1999 i decided i was sick of it all, all i really wanted to do was write so damn it! - why wasn't i writing?! i quit my job and in january of 2000 i registered with the state of maine as "Identity Press," a small publisher. i felt wonderful, i felt powerful, i felt my work would reach millions and i would be able to write full time!!!....i was wrong. nobody took me seriously because i was publishing my own work and i had almost no clue what i was doing, i'd taken a class in high school and since i'd passed with flying colors i thought i'd be able to take the world by storm, stupid-young-misguided-oh-so-full-of-hope-me - and less than a month later, i was back looking for a job. since then i've been working at a local print shop&publishing house, learning everything i can and grabbing just as tightly to every opportunity i can in the world of publishing. now, 5 years later, i'm ready to once again attempt to take the world by storm. so, YES i am being published, and YES it is me publishing it. i've spent the past 4 (going on 5) years learning what i need to know, and now i'm ready. so, with that said, here's the update on the book.
originally i was going to be putting the book out about a week ago, but a few unexpected things (bills mostly) have happened and the book was pushed back till february. also, the book was to be bound as a perfect-bound paperback, but due to certain issues i have had to change that (trust me, i've stayed up MANY hours of the night/early morning debating on this, and to tell you the truth, the pros really out-weigh the cons in this case) the book is now going to be saddle-stitched (the pages will be folded in half and stapled on the spine - like a magazine) which i know isn't the most "professional" looking binding for a novel, but for fucks-sake, atleast my work will be getting out there. plus, with the cost of this type of binding i can now sell my books for nearly half what i would've had to sell them for as perfect-bound, so really, for a small publisher (such as myself) this is the way to go. also, in the first 25 or 50 books sold i'm thinking i might be throwing in a full-color poster of the books cover (maybe 10.5x16.5?) hopefully in the next few weeks i'll be able to get my computer fixed and i'll post some artwork, stuff like the books cover and probably whatever oddities i'm working on. but for now, to keep you all (hopefully) interested, here's the description from the back of the book:
In the beginning,
the angel of Life made a deal with the angel of Death.
When he grew tired of being Death,
he could find a human to take his place.
That time has come.
so, till next time, may everyone in the sg galaxy have a wonderful life!!
