This past weekend was a bit of a bust productivity wise, but I did manage to have my shit together enough to respond intelligently when my professor cold called me today in class. While the weekend was lacking in the studying department, I did get a fair amount of quality relaxation in, which was much needed after last week, which seemed to start out bad, and just stayed that way until Friday evening, at which point I was fortunate enough to attend a reception for the National Association of Law Students with Disabilities (NALSD). This past weekend was their first annual meeting, and I found that the group assembled was pretty impressive. There were attendees from as far afield as Ohio, and of course a bunch of local schools were represented. What was cool is that while I typically am loathe to associate myself with any kind of disability activism, or the "disabled community", I found the group assembled there to be really amazing. Here, there is the commonality amongst the members of both the disability and the law student status. The minority within the minority. They are actually looking at addressing some serious issues, and seemed focused enough to get them accomplished.
Overall, being around those people on Friday night was really motivating and inspiring for me, which is exactly what I needed after such a long week at school and at home. This week is already off to a much better start, and I can tell it is only going to get better from here on out.
Anyway, I hope you all are having satisfactory Mondays.
Bye for now.
