Fuck, fuck, fuck...I just accidentally logged out before posting my Blog update. So you guys are going to have to settle for the list version instead. Which might actually be better from your standpoint.
Things that I am loving/excited about [listed in no particular order]:
> Internet Flirting/E-(pen?)pals/burgeoning internet infatuations. I must say, I am having quite a fun time in this regard lately, and while I prefer the old-fashioned hand-written form of communication I am not yet comfortable asking a woman I hardly know for her mailing address...yet.
> Having some time to actually do some pleasure reading. I am loving it.
> the new Herbivore restaurant which has recently opened in Berkeley. It makes the not-so-secret Indie-Scenester inside of me giddy.
> The Devil Makes Three whom* my friend Jedediah4711 introduced to me recently.
> going home in July, not once, but twice, where I will get to see me mum, my property, my puppy, my "bro", and celebrate my mom's opening and my birthday.
> It looks like my new (fully accessible!!!) kitchen will be finished by the end of this summer, possible by the end of July even. At which point I will actually be able to start learning to cook in earnest.
> And a bunch of other stuff that I can't really think of right now. Generally it is really nice to have some time to myself again in which I can pursue various personal projects that I have been talking about doing for quite a while.
One quick favor to ask of you groovy readers out there. I really would like to brush up on my feminist theory, or actually more specifically, gender studies theory, so if you could suggest a reading list to me, that would be really swell. Said internet crush is about to start her PhD program at Temple in Gender Roles in Global Media, and I would like to at least have some of the basics under my belt for the moment we eventually have a discussion on that, or some tangential topic. Thanks in advance.
* Please, please, somebody correct me on the use of this word. Be detailed yet succinct. It is one of those bits of grammar that haunts the in-between hours of my existence.

She's probably looking for an Aprilia. I've known a few people who've had them, no one close to me. First off, tell her there's very little chance she'll regret "becoming a member" of the SFSGs; all they really mean is that she should join the mailing list (they ask you to fill out like a ten question thingy about what kind of bike you have/want, where you live, blahdeblah) and then you're free to ask questions of the group...which is better than just expecting the mod to answer them because she might not know, but someone in the group will. So, yeah, tell her it's painless, tell her there are lots of people in their 40s (and older), lots of people who have just asked questions and never come out to an event, etc. She can even leave the mailing list once she's gotten what she wants
THAT SAID, tell her to check craigslist if she hasn't already. I think Scuderia here in the city is the only shop that sells new Aprilias; I don't know whether they do used, but they're super nice there and would probably point her in the right direction. The two "main" scooter shops in the city are SF Scooter Center and First Kick, which I know do used but I don't know if they do Aprilia, and then there's Rockridge Two Wheels over on your side (again, besides Vespas I'm not sure what they carry or whether they deal in used bikes).
Hope that helps!
And yay for you on all that awesome stuff you've got going on lately too. Very cool. I shall reply in more detail once I'm not behaving so much like headless poultry, I promise. It's been a while, and I'd love to catch up.
Until then,
