Well now that I'm back from my big city adventure I have learned a few things.
1. Chicago closes around 8:30PM. Much to my dismay this rendered me unable to dine at the illustrious Eat Drink. Though I was able to capture the grandeur:
Clearly we're dealing with the upper echelons of fine dining here.
2. Double Decker trains are awesome. Since I spent a good deal of time in the actual suburbs for the wedding I got to commute on the Chicago Metra Hooray for being on a double decker train and sitting backwards!
3. Staying 2 blocks from an Irish Pub most definitely has its benefits. Got to wait 20 minutes for a train? Why not stop in and have a pint before you go. Any place that has Harp on tap and looks like something straight out of Dublin is A OK in my book. Another big plus is the waitresses that are straight off the boat from Ireland. Irish accents FTW!
4. Being escorted about town by two fine young ladies definitely has its benefits. Ill refer you to exhibit A:
We were approached several times by gentleman inquiring how I got so lucky. To whit I could not help but reply "Eyyyyyyyyy" God bless the Fonz. And come to think of it God Bless Kaytee and Maggie for putting up with me.
5. I may be the worlds worst photographer. But occasionally my mess ups turn into something kinda cool. Ill Refer you to exhibit B:
And Finally 6. Dancing at weddings can be more fun than you think. Especially when your in good company.
So in conclusion I came back mostly victorious I was able to go to Egg Haven, the local posh pancake house, and get my pecan roll with strawberry jam (To die for!) I was able to attend an absolutely beautiful wedding. And I also finally learned the recipe for Pan Galactic Gargleblasters. Huzzah! My only regret is that I forgot to purchase a memory card. Nothing worse than running out of memory 2 minutes into the wedding. Ah well Se La Vi.
Until next time kids!
