So last year for the last two weeks of May, I went on a trip with my family to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore for the first time. On Monday April 4, 2011 I got up out of bed, after only about 3 hours of sleep to leave by 6am to leave to the Grand Canyon. My uncle, auntie and their 3 boys, along with my grandma, my sister and her daughter came along. So we didnt leave till about 6:45. It was a 12 hour drive, but it was fun because all 3 cars had a walkie talkie and our cars had codenames. My dads blue-grey Saturn was Grey Ghost(I wanted to be Thors Hammer), my moms silver Suzuki was Silver Surfer and my uncles green Chevy was Green Lantern. So the entire trip we talked via walkie talkie, crackin jokes and just having fun. Somewhere along the way I saw the most inspiring view. It was the most perfect hill, with the most luscious shade of green and perfectly scattered trees all along the side. Sadly I didnt get a chance to take a picture because my niece threw my camera under the drivers seat. Then I started getting allergies, which I had never had before. It sucked. We got to the hotel at about 8pm and the kids went straight to the pool. Everyone went to sleep fairly early, but I stayed up to talk to my boo, like I always do.
The next day we got up bright and early to make our way to the Grand Canyon. It was windy and cold. I had been there before, about 7 years ago, but the view still took my breath away. Going to such a beautiful place, always puts things in perspective and is always inspiring. On Wednesday was our hummer tour in Sedona. Again, the vibrant colors along with the landscape blew me away. The tour was sooo much fun, but it was cold and windy. After that we went to Blazin M Ranch, had dinner and a show. The show was cool, they sang country songs and announced birthdays, anniversaries and awarded my 7 year-old cousin a cool toy gun for being the Sharp Shooter from a shooting game they had. He did better than everyone, including my dad who is in law enforcement. Now hes pretty set on being a cowboy when he grows up. The end of the show was the Ghost rider song and a guy on a horse dressed as a Ghost Rider, riding around the building with lights flashing like lightning. I had been there before, but it was just as rad as the first time. On the way home at around 9pm, we drove through the town of Jerome, which supposedly drops about a foot a year. I told my dad to drive out of there ASAP. Then we stopped on a mountain where there were absolutely no lights. It was dead silent, and I could see every star in the sky. It was gorgeous.
The next morning was the day we left. But first, we went to Meteor Crater. It was windy and my little sister almost flew away lol the crater was insanely big, but such a sight to see. After almost being blown away, we started heading home. We were almost hit by a truck, drove through snow and I scraped my phone, but we made it home in one piece. Took 14-ish hours to get here, but still.

Here are some pictures.
