I just feel like writing... er typing
Monday was my 21st birthday. My parents took us all out to Chevys in celebration. My mom got me a giant ballon. A ginormorous '21' for everyone to see. I had a Sour Apple Margarita, which was pretty good. Also had a shot of Don Roberto tequila with my parents. It was a gift from my sisters friend who works there. Ate my ususal, fajita salad with apple vinigrette, sooo yummy! Then after we ate a group of Chevys employees snuck up behind me, plopped a sombrero on my head and sang me a birthday tune. They also gave me ice cream! YUM! Then I opened my presents. My dad gave me a card that said "Smiles you give, Joy you live, Love you bring..." When I opened it, all I heard was the song 'My Girl.' Inside it said 'Beautiful thing. Happy birthday to a daughter whos easy to love." I had a feeling this card was going to make me cry. I read it. I cried lol I swear every year I get a birthday card from my parents and it makes me cry. He said that he's proud of the woman I've become. He said something that, since the end of my last relationship, I now live by. It's something everyone should do. He said;
"No matter where you go or do in life, do and be your best. Make yourself proud first."
He's right! And that is what I am doing. Everything I now do, is what is best for me. I remember my mom told me a few months ago, that I shouldn't take shit from any guy, other than my dad. Parents know what's right lol My parents are the best. It doesn't matter what their situation is, they help me as best they can. It's funny though. My sister's 20th birthday was in June, but my parents didnt take her out to eat or anything lol hmmm. Anyways. My family also got me the entire X-Men tv series on DVD! So Stoked! I remember watching them with my sister as a kid at my uncle's house. He lost that house. I grew up there. Wheh he and my tia got a divorce, he married this crazy lady, who got me my job at Round Table. She works in the morning with me. She messed things up. Uncle couldn't pay the bills my himself. So the house went bye bye. All of my cousins would be there after school. My elementary and middle school were both wiithin walking distance from uncle's house. So from Kindergarten to 8th grade, I walked to and from school. I loved it. My nana lived there too. I call her my tia, although she is of no blood relation. She was a family friend and my tia and uncle took her in. She watched the house, the kids, cleaned and made dinner. She raised all of my cousins. Me, my sister and brother included. She even used to babysit my mom. She calls me chelita. She would take care of my sister and I everyday, because my parents worked in the city, so they stayed there with my abuela during the week. For a few years we only saw them on the weekends.
I don't know why I wanted to write about this. Don't really talk about this stuff. Well, I had a great birthday. But my PARTY is on Saturday! Can't wait! My boo can't come see me until next week
But, I do believe Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder. I know It will be worth the wait. And honestly, despite all the bs I've been dealing with lately, I know things could be sooo much worse. So I'm not complaining. As long as I can still smile and laugh everyday. I guess I'm good
