So yup, I am new to SG! But not really, I have known about SG for a couple of years now and have been to the site many times before joining. My old roommate is a member, AlistairMather, he posts excerpts of stories that he has written (both short and ongoing). I personally have always found them to be entertaining, so if you feel like reading some interesting pulp fiction and other such writtiings check him out under my friends section.
Other stuff that is going on with me:
I am getting ready to move at the end of this month to a town house with a good friend of mine, Corey Rose. We have known each other since our first year at OSU (wich I hate by the way) and we where both over in Iraq at the same time, (he's a Marine and I am Army).
My packet for promotion to Sergeant E-5 goes in this month! I have spent countless hours making sure that this goes smoothly since I really wan't to get my stripes back. You see, I lost them the week that I returned back from Iraq due to factors of 1. extreme pent up aggresion and frustration with elements inside my platoon, 2. stress from simply being in Iraq, and 3. I got piss ass drunk my first night back in the states. This led to myself being arrested for drunken dissorderly conduct and assault of a Military Police officer (he was a fat Pig too). It all happened on base so there are no public records wich is good. I got all the points I need already so I don't think there will be any probbaly with my being selected for promotion.
I will start to train with a Civil Affairs Battalion next month. CA goes and hands out food and supplies to the population, so in Iraq they do things like hand out school supplies to kids and such. Their job is to represent the Army in a good light, They run with Psychological Operations and Special Forces often, and being so they fall under Special Operations Comand or SOCOM. I Figure that this would be better than going over as transportation again. That Sucked!
On a llighter side I go Back to school at OSU full time this fall studying Industrial Design. I have to admitt that I am a touch nervous to get back into the ID program after being gone so long. Eventually though, I want to get into designing custom furniture, working mostly with wood but polymers and resigns are a ton of fun to. I also want to build a couple of motorcycles. I have always liked motorcycles but must admitt that in the recent years my interest has grown more so due to shows like American Chopper and The Great Chopper Build Offs on the Discovery channel. The first bike that I want to build will be a classic Bobtail chopper! These bikes came around when people started "chopping" there bikes after WWII to make them lighter and faster. They are simple and so cool, not all stretched out like choppers are today. The second one will be completely new, never before seen styling and cutting edge tech. It will have spokeless rims with the rear one sitting tall, force feed back electronic control systems, a polymer frame and a hydrogen engine. It will be fast and aggressive and look only slightly like a sport bke.
But enough on all that, I am hungry and need to go eat!
-good night and good luck
