For those of you who missed the Inland Invasion......good for you! Maybe my taste in music isn't the same as yours, but I wasn't impressed. I was workin the main stage, so I missed out on the Missing Persons, and the other 3 bands who played the second stage. The Muse started the show, and rocked! X followed, and kicked 20 minutes of ass! The Killers seemed to be much anticipated, I don't understand the deal. I thought they sucked. The Stone Roses were ok, if you can somehow block out the vocal 'stylings' of Ian Stone. (I think we've all had friends sound like that, if you get 'em nice and high and hand 'em a mike.) Franz Ferdinand I didn't know, yet I recognized one song. Is he the cat from Frankie Goes To Hollywood? I thought that the song I recognized was by them. They were pretty good, I guess. Devo was......Devo! They're always cool, but enough's enough. This time when they went onstage I counldn't help but think, "What if one of 'em falls and breaks a hip, or something?" Billy Idol rocked! Never been too into his music, but they still sound great and he knows how to work the crowd. Definitely one of the better acts! Now, halfway through the day we were told to take apart Morrisey's setup, because of....whatever. I was told, "Put the headliner back on the truck. His set's finished." That sucks so much for anyone that drove all the way out there to see him! I hate that shit! Anyway, because of that Siouxie closed the show! In my eyes she was the better closing act anyway. Her set had a dreamy vibe to it. Loved the taeko drummer! It was Siouxie unchained. Very cool, but nothing to get the crowd psyched out. Remember when festivals used to get better as the day progressed? Then, when the last act went on they worked the crowd into a frenzy, even though you were thinkin about gettin a head start to the car? This was definitely not one of those festivals. Not much else goin on this week. Taking down Barry Manilow rehearsals on Thurs then headin home. I can't wait to catch Annie Lennox on Sat!!!!! Peace, Love and Tweaked Nipples!
