doing it caveman style really sucks
yeah, i know that must look pretty damn strange, but allow me to explain. picture this if you a will. you have a multi-million dollar company with multiple stores that share the same inventory, its just split up so different parts of it are in different stores. wouldn't you think it very important to make sure the stock system stays up, or if it does go down it is only for a very brief time. well, our stock and ordering programs went down on WEDNESDAY NIGHT..... tonight is saturday and they are still not back up. this has probably cost the company thousands of dollars over the past few days because i would estimate that we are at about 60-70% effectiveness right now. and who was the lucky one getting to pull out our 13 day old inventory sheets and try to compare them to what we have, and believe me there is a ton of stuff that has come in since the time that inventory was done. so i get to sit there looking through our stock everytime someone is trying to make a sale, i get to field calls from the other offices checking to see if we still have stuff from our inventory and i have to call them and do the same. i basically had to be our computer system the past few days and for 13 hours today. this is just frickin' lovely, if it stays like this much longer i am going to lose my frickin' mind. so that right there is having to do thing caveman style. my job - computers = hell
ok, now that i am done venting, last night was fun as always with the SGNY crowd. again, traffic sucked going in, i am coming to accept the fact that everytime i go in it is going to take one an a half to two hours even though it should only take 45 minutes to an hour. well, it should start getting better now that i am learning my way around on the roads and will know which ways to go. well anyway, getting back to the topic, last night was fun, always is with you guys and i look forward to the next one. seems like everything i go to i meet new people, so that is quite good.
well, this human computer needs to go into sleep mode, but not before i get a few comments out there
